NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING SCHEME (NATS)

INTRODUCTION

The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) is a flagship initiative by the Government of India to provide hands-on, practical training to recent graduates in engineering, diploma, and general stream courses. The program bridges the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by placing eligible students in apprenticeship positions within top Central, State, and Private organizations.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for the NATS program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

- Be a citizen of India.
- Hold a degree or diploma in Engineering, Technology, or a general stream (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com).
- Have completed graduation within the last three years.
- Have no prior work experience of one year or more.
- Have not previously undergone apprenticeship training under the government.
- Not be currently enrolled in another government-funded training program.

HOW TO APPLY
The application process for the NATS program is simple and can be completed online through the official NATS portal.

STEP-BY-STEP APPLICATION GUIDE:
1. Register: Visit the official NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in and click "Register".
2. Fill Details: Complete the enrollment form by providing your personal, educational, and contact details.
3. Upload Documents: Scan and upload the required documents, including your Aadhaar card, qualifying degree/diploma certificate, bank passbook, and a passport-size photo.
4. Receive Credentials: After completing the form, the system will generate a user ID and password for you.
5. Log In: Use your new credentials to log in to the portal and view apprenticeship opportunities.
6. Apply for Positions: Browse the available apprenticeship listings and apply for positions that match your profile.
7. Track Status: Monitor the status of your applications through your dashboard.

IMPORTANT NOTE


The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme is not a job guarantee. It is a one-year training program designed to equip students with practical skills and industry experience. The selection of apprentices is the sole prerogative of the employer.

The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a landmark initiative by the Government of India aimed at boosting apprenticeship training in the country. It provides a structured framework for skill development by connecting motivated individuals with employers who are committed to providing hands-on, practical training. This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, thereby enhancing employability for a wide range of candidates.

BENEFITS FOR APPRENTICES

- Earn a Stipend: Apprentices receive a monthly stipend during their training period. The government provides partial financial support for this stipend to the employer.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

- Freshers: Candidates with no prior formal training, with an upper age limit of 35.
- PMKVY/MES Pass-Outs: Trainees who have completed courses under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana or Modular Employable Skills.
- Basic Qualification Holders: Those who meet the minimum educational requirements for a specific trade.
- Minimum Age: Applicants must be at least 14 years old (18 for hazardous industries).

The application process is managed through the official Apprenticeship Training Portal.
- Register Online: Visit the official portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
- Complete Your Profile: Fill in all required personal, educational, and contact details. e-KYC via Aadhaar is mandatory.
- Search and Apply: Use the portal to browse for apprenticeship opportunities posted by establishments and apply for roles that match your skills and interests.
- Accept Offer: If your application is accepted, you will receive an offer letter. Accept the offer and execute the contract online to begin your training.
